I want to add a 3D monitor to my computer (with a GeForce GTX 260).
The Sony website states that Vegas Pro 11 supports NVIDIA 3D vision on "single display 3D devices".

Will I still be able to use a dual monitor setup with Vegas Pro 11: one 2D and one 3D monitor using 3D vision? Or would I be limited to use one 3D monitor for both timeline and preview window?

I´m a bit confused by this.

Any recommendations for a nice 3D monitor (incl. support for 3D vision v2) with good colors?
Thanks.

Vegas 11 does not support GTX 260.

This is possible only with quadro cards yet..
Maybe softmodding geforce->quadro? Anybody?

Adam: for GPU accelerated rendering maybe GTX260 is not supported, but only for external monitoring even a very cheap nvidia card can do the job, only requirement is the 3D vision support.

I have luck with dual monitor setup and 3D vision preview, but with older, 266.58 driver. 3D vision work, i can navigate the timeline on the other monitor but JUST with the keyboard. As soon as i click with the mouse on an event, 3D vision preview quit on the second monitor. Only with keyboard everything is fine!!

So i REALLY HOPE that with next update of Vegas this will be fully supported, and we don't need quadro cards. Come on Sony ;-)

Since then, they released Build 425 which does support it according to several people who have the older NVIDIA cards.

I have a GT 430, and Vegas displays stereo 3D in full screen for me as long as I use the developer drivers (270.81) from CUDA Toolkit 4.0 | NVIDIA Developer Zone (http://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-toolkit-40). It does not work with any driver released since then. But 270.81 works like a charm. At least for me.
