One left at Amazon France as of today: Sony - NEX-VG20EH - Caméscope à objectifs interchangeables: Amazon.fr: High-tech

For those of you traveling to Paris, they are for sale at the Sony Store there.

This is one of the rare times when it's ok to envy the French :-)

'...envy the French...'

Did you notice the price? EUR 2.199,00 while B&H list the price as 2,199.99 US, presumably. OANDA online currency converter tells us that today 1 EUR gets you 1.41419 US dollars.

What gives?

This is standard pricing policy for Asian camera manufacturers. When introduced, the Panasonic GH2 with the 14-42 lens was $999 in the US and €999 in Europe. Part of the reason for this is the manufacturers' lack of pricing power in the North American market due to the poor economy. Other factors include higher taxes and import duties in Europe.

Errrr....Apparantly November comes sooner for the French.
Well I can hope the European buyers start posting footage demonstrating what the camera can do :-)
