I ordered the VG-20 from Sony today. I did get the stock lens, but I also want to try my Nikon (vintage) and Canon glass with it. I was thinking I could order an EOS to Emount adapter and just use the Nikon adapters I have for my Canon 5D and mate with the EOS adapter to get my Nikon glass mounted. Anyone tried that with the VG 10 ?

That's very, very, very unlikely to work the way you are hoping.

Mechanically it will all plug together. Where it fails is holding your Nikon lens at the proper registration distance from the sensor. I would be absolutely totally amazed if (sensor--> E-mount registration distance) + (thickness of EOS lens to E-mount Adapter) + (thickness of Nikon lens to EOS mount adapter) == distance Nikon lens expects to be from sensor.

I actually would expect it to work - if the EOS mount adapter ends up at the correct distance for EOS lenses, and the nikon adapter works with a standard EOS mount, then it should add up to the correct distance. Accounting for manufacturing tolerances I imagine it might be very slightly off, at best that would throw off the distance markings on the lens at worst you might not be able to focus perfectly at infinity - in either case the lens would still be perfectly useable for most shooting situations.

Evan, that is my conclusion too. However, I note the EOS adapter I wanted to buy from BHphoto didn't have a good rep for fit for some users, so I just bought the Nikon adapter. Essentially what I have in EOS lenses is covered by what I have in Nikon lenses. And all of that is covered by the stock Sony lens too.

Hey Chris..
Regarding the new "contest" video your going to make......
Don't forget to have someone shoot some "behind the scene" shots.
