Finally got a delivery date for my XF300 - tomorrow :)

Just before stocks dry up with the Thailand problems - now to get down to setting this beast up once it arrives, I will have pleasure doing that I am sure.

My 305 is also in the mail. Also feel lucky to beat the floods. But I guess we should feel sympathy for those suffering from the effects of such overwhelming events.

you will love this camera, but watch out for the evil EVF burn in if the sun hits it..I had mine toasted and had to have canon replace it..not fun.

Received this morning so have been a "bit tied up" all day ;)

What a beautiful piece of kit, all set up ready to go thanks to Doug's DVD - even though I know the Canon's there were a few beauty's in the DVD that save a load of time. I feel confident that I could go out on a shoot tonight knowing that I won't fall in to many problems.

The VF came with a blank which is great but thanks for the nod John, I will keep it in mind.

I am "enjoying, enjoying" Grazie - the red peaking on black (set only when Magnify button is pushed is lifesaver).

I have been using the XF300 for a few months now and I think it is just about the best 1/3" all in one camera I have ever used. It just makes sense the way it was put together. The real treat for me was the servo motor. Canon added some touches from their broadcast lenes as I can get soft landings and starts from an $89 Libec LANC controller.

I could use a tad more light gathering. Maybe in the XF300a...
