Billy Cristal (63yrs) has accepted the job to host the 2012 Oscar presentations.

He did it so the young woman at the pharmacy will stop asking his name when he stops by to pick up his prescriptions :)

That's probably his opening gag, never mind he'll forget he's already told it and still open with it .. l'll try and remember to look forward to it.

always hated Billy Crystal. Could never stand him, moreso than anybody in Hollywood.

I saw him live in :Lake Tahoe. Never felt the need to do that, but my wife and I went there with my parents on a trip one year. He was headlining. I have to say, I never laughed so hard at his stand up. He was particularly funny describing the drving force behind going out on his first date. I remember him talking about walking up to the front door, deciding he was to afraid to ring the door bell, when something in his lower half started saying,,, "its in the house, its in the house!" forcing him to ring it. My mother, who had raised 6 boys, was absolutely crying trying to stop laughing, while my father seemed not to be overly amused. it made me realize how in tune my mother was with what made people tick in life.

Yep, I agree Billy has the knack, his timing reminds me of Bob Hope. Like Hope he probably has great writers for his stuff ..

but if you ain't got that thing it's never going to swing .. da da dut da da dut daaaaaaaaa!
