I've been working with Vegas9 with Cineform Neosene ( Vista 32 bit) to convert my 5D footage, well my hard drive crashed so I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 (64 bit) then installed Vegas 11(64 bit) and Vegas 9 (64 bit) and both of them do not recognize the .AVI file from Cineform that was working before on Vegas9 (32 bit)

I opened other project that have m2t only and that was fine on both Vegas9 and 11.

what am I missing here ??

any help will be appreciated..

Michael,

Did you also reinstall NeoScene? (I'm asking this because later versions of Vegas, 9 or above, do not include a Cineform decoder at all.)

Randall, I am trying to install it now without paying for it again, so do you think the system doesn't recognize this format if you don't have NeoScene on your computer ?

I tried this. None of the video editing programs recognize Cineform files at all without a Cineform decoder installed.

There is a free decoder that will allow you to play the files if you dont need to encode to Cineform again.
Neo Player Downloads (http://estore.cineform.com/NeoPlayer.aspx)
If you contact Cineform support they will be able to sort out your licencing from your crashed hard drive. Its a pain when you dont de-activate first, but they will help you through it.

You can also download the free Cineform codec from GoPro (the company that recently bought Cineform.) This version will also allow you to encode Cineform files up to 1920x1080 whereas the Neo Player will only decode.

CineForm Studio: Software Download (http://gopro.com/3d-cineform-studio-software-download/)

John, I did that but still Vegas only plays sound but no picture from a Cineform codec .avi file.
