Another DVC/UWOL Charity Challenge is through. Thanks so much to everyone who donated! You are going to make some worthy charity very happy with a total donation of $405!

Speaking of thanks, many go out to Dylan Couper for starting this joint challenge way back when and keeping it going--even submitting an entry this time (that probably wouldn’t be something to show off to most charities). ;) Big thanks, also, to Chris Hurd for giving us a home here on the fabulous DV Info Net. Then there’s a special thanks to Guy Cochran of DVeStore (http://www.dvestore.com) for his always-generous prizes! We all appreciate you guys for helping us have so much fun practicing our skills and producing great films and, in this round, television episodes.

All right, the moment you’ve been waiting for is here. We had eleven wonderfully entertaining videos to watch. You are all winners for getting them finished! But only one gets to have fun with a $250 shopping spree at DVeStore (http://www.dvestore.com) plus bragging rights. So here we go!

2nd Runner up:
Finn-Erik Faale “A Night in the Showroom”

1st Runner up:
Clint Harmon “Reel Trips & Adventures”

Winner and Champion of the 2011 DVC/Charity Challenge:
Simon Wood “Mondo Safari”

Congratulations, Simon, on such a well-executed and funny travelogue! It was an overwhelming favorite with the judges, and would be highly entertaining to any audience in television land. We'll send your email address to Guy so he can contact you about your prize.

Congratulations, also, to our runners-up Clint and Finn-Erik for such great entries, as well as to all of you who worked so hard to complete a television show. You made the charity challenge all kinds of fun! Thanks!!

That’s a wrap! Until next year, have fun shooting, and keep your eyes on the DV Challenge and UWOL forums throughout the year for announcements on the next challenges. We’ll see you there!

Big props Simon, that was a superb piece. If I was you I'd think about a little festival run for it. Well done!

Nicely done to all -- and congrats to Simon. Looking forward to your next opus (and get your dad to narrate again).

Wow, this was unexpected! Thanks to Lorinda & Dylan and everyone involved; and well done to the runners up (and all the other excellent videos)! There were lots of fun entries in this competition; and they were all very enjoyable to watch.

Thanks also to Guy for the prize; the fact that this video will be 'profitable' will be a very novel experience for me!

As for my charity choice: my wife and I sponsor a child in an orphanage here in Entebbe called Malayaka House, and we also arrange activities for all of the kids every so often. Just before Christmas we helped to arrange a garden Christmas party for the orphanage at our home. This morning I cut a very quick video of it here so that you will see where the donations will be going to. Unfortunately we did not have any snow in Uganda this Christmas, so Santa had to arrange alternative transport (anyone who watched Mondo Safari will probably recognize his new 'sleigh' at around 1.15)!

I hope that you all had a Merry Christmas, and that you will have a most excellent New Year and 2012!

Thats the one. It is run by an American guy, Robert Fleming. I believe they have a PayPal account in case that would be the easiest way to get the donation fund to them?

My congratulations goes to Simon, Clint and Finn-Erik for delivering excellent videos.
And to all of you who completed this year's challenge and of course to those who made it possible.
Sorry, but I could not participate this time. I must be better to plan my time, and of course priority.
My New Year's resolution is to get better in many areas, for example, to finish what I start.
Upcoming summer, I have completed my education, and hope to have more time for filming.
Wish all a Happy New Year 2012.

Congrats Simon, Clint and Finn-Eric.

Had the same thoughts as Dylan - your excellent entry needs to go to a film festival Simon.
