Omega Broadcast Group is excited to announce the upcoming release of a software program which will give Apple Mac users direct access to the .mxf-wrapped DNxHD files produced by the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Shuttle and Studio recorders through QuickTime proxy files.
Our software instantly creates link files that you import into FCP and other NLE software like QuickTime files. This software creates a new MXF file link for each DNxHD clip. The link files can be opened with Final Cut Pro or the QuickTime Player and edited as if they were ordinary QuickTime files.
There is no transcoding involved with this software – the link file is generated almost instantaneously, and access through QuickTime utilizes the free DNxHD QuickTime codec available for download from Avid.
This software enables a new low-cost, high-quality, extended duration recording workflow using Blackmagic’s affordable HyperDeck recorders.
Projected availability is March 2012.
Price will be $149 with a pre-release promotional offer of $99 (with $10 deposit, balance upon product release).
