Filming the reconstruction of the Battle of Austerlitz was the work of a group of enthusiasts, who regularly meet on the camcorder workshop near Brno in The Czech republic. This first cut was created in February 2011 as our "workshop preview" of the released footage, shots should be used to create a document about this event (produced by the organizer of the Battle of Austerlitz).

The temperature in the place fell to -13°C. We used eleven camcorders (a Canon XF300, several XH-A1, several HV40, one Sony Z1) on the area 1000 x 500m. We filmed over a thousand minutes of recording, the resulting cut has about 17 minutes. Editing was done in Avid MediaComposer. I used the SD version for realtime preview.
Karel Slavík chose music. This Camcorder Workshop meeting (known as WS4) was under the auspices of videokamery.cz.

Interesting, so Austerlitz was in "Austro-Hungary"?

I half hope Sarkozy wins the French Presidential election as he'll be in charge when we (at least on this side of the Channel) celebrate Waterloo in 2015.
