In the hope of being able to do some dynamic air-to-air vision of a Fournier RF4D from a Maule M5, I may be hiring a KS4 gyro to support a handheld SI2K mini with 50-500 zoom lens. I expect it will not be practical to try for any tighter than 250mm, however am hopeful of the zoom range up to that.
I was able to achieve a stable float of a PD150 at full zoom ( about 70mm on a 1/3 sensor ) with a handheld device of my own creation however it proved to uncontrollable when trying to stay close in on an aircraft flying a parallel course and moving about.
Any information on managing the gyro in a confined workspace will be much appreciated.
