Hey all, long time reader and first time poster. A lot of great info on the forum regarding the XF100, especially with camera settings and post processing/encoding.

Anyway, bought my XF100 last May, and finally got around to using it this past weekend in NYC. This video was geared toward bright lights, which really makes NYC what it is. Had to shoot with a polarizer filter on the camera, as it's stuck on the lens at the moment. All shots were handheld, and no color correction, etc. was done, so this footage is straight out of the camera. Edited in FCPX.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Always open to suggestions. Hope you all enjoy!

Josh,

Very nice video.

For your stuck filter get one of these sized for your lens.

General Brand Filter Wrench (Set of 2) B&H Photo Video

You can also try putting a rubber band around the filter lip to give you a grip.

That usually works but if it doesn't a small strap wrench will do the trick 9 out of 10 times. I picked up a set a Lowe's for about 10 bucks.

Worst case scenario is you cut it off with a dremel tool, which is not for the faint of heart.

Josh, BEAUTIFUL work, especially for footage straight out of the camera. Care to share the techniques you used on exposure, white balance, and custom picture files??? Or if not the whole CP settings, at least the color/sharpness/gamma ???

Thanks for the comments so far! I really appreciate it.

Tried getting the circular polarizer filter off with a rubber band but it will not budge one bit. I think it's just an excuse to go back to NYC to pick up some filter clamps. Would much rather damage the filter than damage the lens!

When I get home tomorrow I will open up the camera and check the settings I used for most of the shoot. Can't remember off of the top of my head. Thanks!
