The idea for this thread is to exchange tips, techniques, equipment recommendations etc., for a limited crew and small budget documentary productions. Productions where a cameraman is also a lighting person.

What essentials should be carried in a lighting bag to cover variety of lighting situations; what works in tight spaces; DIY equipment - anything with minimalist lighting in mind is welcomed.

Also other links on this subject are welcomed.

Good idea Adrian. I started posting lighting setups on my blog before things got too hectic. I plan on doing more in the future. Here is the first one I posted called "steal this setup"
