Are there any 3D cameras that have been announced that you are looking forward to? I can't seem to find anything out there right now. Did companies give up on this? I'm looking at the prices of some of these cameras and they have dropped. I'm wondering if Sony/JVC/Panasonic didn't sell enough or see enough interest in the 3D market and decided to just let it go. I was thinking about the Panasonic Z10000, but I have no idea how to get the footage into FCP. It just feels like 3D is still way into the hobbyist only zone.

You are right - there are no rumors about new cameras, nothing. The only new camera was the Sony TD20, after the Sony TD10. Not really great, I know. And that only fo rthe hobbyist. :)

Sure, that is the professional Sony product - and there is also one from Panasonic. But how new is that?

Yes there is a dirth of new models. I am waiting for something like the Sony TD10 but with progresive support. I suspect the lack of a consumer priced Profile 5 3D disc authoring software is a major factor holding back development. Sony Vegas Pro can produce 3D discs but without menus.
