I have Windows 7 Pro and Premiere installed on this SSD. It has only 15 GB free. There must be some large hidden files. Any suggestions to reduce usage on my C Drive?

Any suggestions to reduce usage on my C Drive? Kawika Ohumukini May 30th, 2012, 09:47 PM Could be lots of things. Here's a place to start. Guide to Freeing up Disk Space under Windows 7 - Scott Hanselman (http://www.hanselman.com/blog/GuideToFreeingUpDiskSpaceUnderWindows7.aspx) Specifically related to Adobe, most of the apps have cache files and/or a database. Each project can have preview files which could be on the system drive. Check Premiere Preferences -> Media section to see what's going on there. Kawika Ohumukini June 14th, 2012, 02:54 PM I have a 120GB SSD and CS6 Production Premium on Win7 and I've got 50GB free. It's not hard to keep the system drive clean. Cheers Alan Craven June 15th, 2012, 12:15 AM Shift your page file and,as Kawika suggests, your Adobe media cache and database onto other drives. Move your Documents, e-mails, etc. from your user folder on C: to another drive. Unless you are willing to work from a slower drive, Pete Bauer June 15th, 2012, 07:25 PM Or unless you're willing to disable hibernate as per Kawika's link. |
