Hi All...

Any tips on bringing out shadow detail without altering the mid tones and highlights? I like the shadow/highlights filter but it's not CUDA accelerated so is pretty slow. I've had some success with curves but cannot yet find a way of matching the shadow/highlight filter

You won't be able to match shadow/highlight filter with curves, because it uses a completely different algorithm.
