Hey guys,

I recently bought a HERO2. I lot this camera.

One issue I'm having is with the mounts that you stick to things.

I have one stuck to my motorcycle helmet but it allows the camera to shake. It's not a lot of movement, but it definitely moves.

I stuck another one on the bumper of my car and it shakes too.

I've created little plastic shims to remove this, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and if there is a fix for it?

Thanks!

Charlie:

Are you sure the camera is physically moving? Because at some vibration levels, the CMOS sensor "jelly cam" issue can be very noticeable. It's more of a swimming motion in the video, rather than an up and down shake.

Yes, it is moving. I get the jelly-like effect as well.

If I use my homemade shims the shaking almost entirely goes away and the jelly effect rarely happens unless the wind speed is really high (80+ mph).

Are you using the little vibration plug the camera comes with?

What is the vibration plug?

It seems my HERO2 (Motorsports Package) didn't come with the anti-vibration plug.

You can buy one with the "Grab Bag of Mounts" but I don't really needs all that stuff. I don't see a way to order just the anti-vibration plug.

I sent an email to GoPro asking if there was a way to order just the anti-vibration plugs but they have yet to respond.

I also asked if my unit should have come with one or not. I can't determine that for sure either.
