IMHO, in order to have a success in the home, we will need to get rid of glasses and generate a mix of real and virtual views from different angles. Some of the research is described here: Heinrich Hertz Institute - Multi Camera Content Creation (http://www.hhi.fraunhofer.de/en/departments/image-processing/applications/multi-camera-content-creation/) . It doesn't appear that two cameras will cut it.

This is interesting. I wonder if it is possible to go so far as to allow viewing options for the combinations of left and right eye dominance, a bit of a theory I have mentioned a few times, suggesting use of three cameras for 3D.

Many things are possible with multiple cameras, however, the main desire here is to widen the "sweet spot" or useable viewing angle, so that many people can see the same 3DTV without glasses and with good quality. With these displays you can "walk around an object" and with limited angle see it with holographic-like views.
