I just bought a Samsung 15" ultrabook and it's fairly fast machine with i5, 8Gb of RAM and i installed 512Gb SSD, but whatever I do, inside Vegas I can't see MXF video, only sound, i can see any other formats, but not MXF;
I installed latest graphics drivers, Sony Clip Browser (both versions), i installed/re installed Vegas, but nothing helps,
I can play MXFs in Windows, i can see MP4s straight from the SxS card in Vegas, but as soon as Sony clip browser converts the files I can't se those videos in Vegas, only hear the sound; I am guessing this is a video driver limitations, do you guys think there something else i missed that can make it work?
thx!

What is a Sony clip browser?

Can you not simply drag and drop the orginal files directly into Vegas? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Buba, just to confirm, you are using version 2.6 of the Clip Browser, correct?

Jeff, Clip Browser is a free utility that, in my case (JVC HM-750U), takes the raw MP4 camera files and re-wraps them into MXF format.
It also seamlessly joins together clips that were part of a single segment but, due to recording limitations, are restricted to a max file size of 2 GB.

yes i can, but it'll take much longer and I won't be able to open the same project on another machine

i believe it's 2.2, i'll check it again tonight

I originally installed 2.1 and had all kinds of nasty video issues until I upgraded to 2.6
Once I did that, all my problems went away.

I installed V2.6,and it didn't fixed the problem, but Vegas 10e on the same machine works perfectly and can see any files including XDCAM MXFs, but it doesn't recognize newer R3Ds, only from R1,
oh boy, this is really confusing, now I need to keep two versions of Vegas on the same PC;
plus, Premiere Pro CS6 also gives me "importer generic error" when I try to import MXFs to the timeline,
hopefully they fix it in the next version;
Thank again guys!

Buba, I finally got around to installing Pro 11 (build 683) on my work computer and MXF files open on it with no problems at all.
These come from my JVC HM-750 and are MP4 files that are re-wrapped by Clip Browser into MXF files.

I have no problem viewing and working with XDCAM MXFs at all on my main PC, and my two laptops, it is only ultrabook that is not acting nice, I'll try to check for the latest Vegas build
