Hi all, audio noobie here.

my sennheiser radio mic has been great but yesterday I was interviewing a guy in an industrial estate outside a pharmaceuticals factory and I was getting this strange fuzz going up and down in pitch. Any idea what happened?

Also, can you direct me to any posts regarding frequencies for your lav mic please? I dont want my mic interfering with police gear or a church organ etc.

Thanks.

Without hearing a sample we don't have anything to go on to come up with a diagnosis. Kind of like calling up the doctor and saying "I don't feel well, what should I do?"

The interference could be a cell phone, backberry or other personal wireless device, Have them turned off in your immediate area. Without actually hearing the noise... post a clip
Search this and the DVX user forums for Sennheiser frequency selection. This has been discussed at great length. Visit the Sennheiser website to help select open channels in your area. Sennheiser Frequency Finder (http://www.frequencyfinder.eu/)

Thanks guys,

I will check out that forum.
I deleted teh offending recordings off that card it seems. Theyre not in my recycle bin so I cant show them to you.
I didnt know that mobile phones, blackberries could do that.

Thanks a lot,
Brian.

Too right they will.

If you've got the pre-production time, visit the location in advance at the same time of day as the shoot and check for local radio frequency interference. Moving a few yards away may help.

Cheers.
