I've asked this question over on another site, but am seeking some additional input from you all ...

So for those who've tried both methods of timelapse which would you recommend for max quality? Intervalometer (Pixel, say) or the GH13 Timelapser. Wondering whether to buy an intervalometer ...

Thanks!

Dave

For maximum quality, buy an intervalometer and shoot raw files. The downside will be more work in post and you could eventually wear down the shutter. The upside is more resolution, more creative control over the image.

Thanks Adrian. Silly question, but is the quality noticeably better with the intervalometer? Can you see the difference?

Anyone have thoughts on differences in quality??

I guess a lot depends on your final output..if you're going to web, then the difference might be a little smaller. You have the huge advantage of being able to push and pull the image, if you shoot raw, plus with the extra resolution, you can crop in and do various post effects. Personally, I would use intervalometer and shoot raw when I've got time to process the images. If it's fast turnaround stuff, then going for the speed up is fine looking.

Thanks again Adrian. That helped me make the decision.

Be well!
