Hello,

I'd like to shoot a scene with natural falling snow. Unfortunately, the nearest place that gets snow is 2 hours away. Furthermore, I'll have to get cast and crew up there as well, and I'd like to avoid wasting their time.

Is my best option, to check the weather forecast, and hope it's accurate on that day? Furthermore, I was told they tend to close roads when it snows. Any suggestions for those in wintery areas or folks from out of town that have traveled to a snowy area?

Thank you

Fake it? I've seen machines here in Hawaii that sprays out white foam lather into the sky, which then floats down like flurries. It looks very realistic! They use it in one of our shopping malls.

And don't forget that like rain you have to backlight the snow to get it to show up well.
