Hi folks. A client has the above mentioned deck that has a seminar on it (no I didn't shoot it) and asked me to edit the footage. It's on the HDD of the machine. I've tried to get my computer to see the HDD to no avail. It does see that the machine is hooked up but doesn't see the HDD. I know there is footage there, I've been able to play thru it.
Here's the 2 methods I used to hook up.
1) FW straight into the computer from the deck. The computer sees the deck, doesn't see the HDD AND I can't play the footage.
2) Composite out to pass thru (in this case a camera), FW from camera to computer. I can see the deck but again not the HDD BUT I can play the footage to capture it.

Now heres the kicker, I can only see/play the last clip of the event. Very strange.
Anyway, if anyone has a constructive idea of how to get thru this I would appreciate it.
BTW, I don't have the remote, I think the client does but he's not sure. He's looking.

As for only being able to play the last clip, now there you've got me (though I wouldn't be totally gob smacked to find it had something to do with the above statement re: not doing much without the remote)

I suppose a good place to start is to ask just how & why, exactly, the info ended up on the hard drive in the first place, it had to come from somewhere. Where? How?

If it was either a DV tape or a DVD, where is (are) it (they)?

Well, he found the remote and now I've got it in hand. I realized right after I posted that 99% of the decks won't do much without the remote. I'm going to hook up and see what the little gem in my hand can do to get to the footage I need. BTW it was shot directly to the deck with a DXC30. Why they did that is still beyond me but hey, their choice.

OK after pulling what hair I have left it is apparent to me that you can not see the HDD in the device explorer in order to simply copy the file over, so I'm playing it in from the unit to my NLE so I can edit the piece.
What a waste of time. Oh well, it is what it is!
