Sharp to launch world's thinnest 4K monitor for $5,500 - Computerworld (http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9234078/Sharp_to_launch_world_39_s_thinnest_4K_monitor_for_5_500?taxonomyId=235)
(Error in the article: The reference should be to a 90-inch, rather than an 80-inch, TV.)
Sharp to sell ultrathin IGZO 4K LED display | Crave - CNET (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57555555-1/sharp-to-sell-ultrathin-igzo-4k-led-display/)
4K UHD Sharp IGZO Display, a Professional Monitor - Softpedia (http://news.softpedia.com/news/4K-UHD-Sharp-IGZO-Display-a-Professional-Monitor-310308.shtml)
[Disclaimer: I work for Sharp Labs of America (though not for the division that makes monitors). I had nothing to do with the product or the articles.]
The bottom line that this is a UHD (3840x2160) monitor that can be used as a monitor or AV display - it has both DisplayPort and HDMI connectors. (It's not a "TV" as there are no 4K broadcast standards; hence, there is no tuner.) Yes, it's thin, but the bigger news is that it's IGZO, which is the very latest LCD technology. It offers a much faster response time, which will eliminate motion artifacts, and offers a much larger aperture, which has multiple performance and efficiency benefits. Unlike most other brands, SHARP manufactures its own large and high-end panels in Japan.
Should be a nice solution for 4K editing and playback.
