I just unboxed a Sony EVI-HD1 I bought a while ago and noticed a soft ticking sound when panning or tilting. Is this just how it's supposed to be by design? How does the motor drive work?

The volume of the sound is a bit below that of my Macbook fan (on full speed) but still noticeable.
