Bill - for the third time in a row, Panasonic has underestimated the demand for GH cameras. I was in this same situation with the GH2 in December 2010, so I ended up getting one from The Camera Store in Canada. Sadly, that option is not available this time, because they're sold out up there too.

There is one guy on eBay selling his camera for $1569.99 (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575034783&toolid=10001&campid=5337235943&customid=&icep_item=271127388811&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg), but that's about it.

I learned my lesson last time and pre-ordered the GH3 from Adorama in September. My camera arrived in early December. I don't like pre-ordering, but Panasonic makes the best hybrid still/video cameras, and I need these cameras for my business.

Given Panasonic's track record with the rollout of these cameras, I am guessing that I'll have to pre-order the next one too. Sadly, below $2000, these cameras are the only game in town.

I pre-ordered mine Dec 11th. Every two weeks B&H sent me an email saying, "still backordered", got another one yesterday. This morning got an email saying, "shipped". Estimated delivery Jan 30th.
