My C300 was on and accidentally I had pressed the recording button and it had started recording. I was talking with someone at the end of the day and noticed that the recording was on.

I had a momentary "brain failure". I just turned the C300 off without first stopping the recording. I came back to the forest resthouse and then when I checked the card the entire 7GB footage shot in the afternoon was not showing. However, the card capacity was showing 7 GB less.

Interestingly the card had footage from the morning as well, which I had downloaded. This footage was showing up. Only the footage from afternoon is not visible.

Has anyone faced a similar situation?

I haven't tried to recreate this scenario again and see if it is related to switching off while recording is on. However, since early november when this happened, I am now careful and keep the camera on locked mode.
