View Full Version : what happened to WEVA?

I had a wedding video company with two teams of shooters in Phoenix in 2002-04, but had to take a break for a few years. I'm back in it full-steam and quickly joined WEVA again -- only to see it's a empty shell of what it was back then.

Is there any annual awards/conferences that wedding videographers swarm to these days? Any other forum to pay attention to?

Thanks!
Ron

There are also some other events like the following:

WPPI is a terrific show -- one of my favorites. I have to miss it this year due to other commitments, unfortunately. Plenty of video gear there as well as the latest in photography. And it's very much technique-oriented.

Thanks, guys. Does WPPI offer video competitions as well? I thought it was just photography. Good to see they offer video goods, tho.

So.. is my memory bad, or was WEVA what it was all about 10 years ago?

Ron - yeah, their most recent competition did have a video category. I just submitted an entry.
