I filmed a project on a Canon XHA1, 1080i 30P. Can this footage be burned to Blu Ray without a problem? From what I understand 24p and 60I are actual Blu Ray specs.

Tom Roper March 18th, 2013, 07:16 PM Normally it would be converted to 60i, since 30p is not a directly supported Blu-ray format. x264 gives the option to flag the progressive frames as interlaced so the disc can be encoded as progressive. You have to check whether your Blu-ray authoring software will thereafter support using the reflagged 30p. Peter Manojlovic March 18th, 2013, 08:08 PM Hey Kevin... The XHA1 shoots 60i, 24P and 30F. You didn't mention any encoders. Since i use AME, it defaults to encode your 30P output as 29.97. So yes, it will work. I do it all the time. |
