I used a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM last week... and it was wonderful.

I read there could be a new Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Alpha A-Mount Telephoto Zoom Lens released soon.
Is this true?

I'm thinking of getting a Sony 70-200mm to use with my LA-EA2 Mount Adaptor.
Can anyone confirm the auto focus and one push auto iris functions will work with this lens?

Has anyone compared the Canon with the Sony?

be careful when you want to use LAEA2 adaptor, the adaptor extend out at the bottom. You may find it difficult to mount the tripod plate.

I use FS100, i need to mount the quick release plate at the very end, then it will make the camera's weight all at the front.

My FS700 is mounted on a raiser and rails, so I've had no problems using the LAEA2 adaptor.
I distribute the weight by siding my IDX battery forwards or backwards on the rails.
