Our 4K Mac Pro demo system will be available for show-and-tell starting next week.
With the new Mac Pro in such short supply - I want to give anyone inside our area an opportunity to see it in action running various editing and post software.
Please contact us if you are interested in coming over to check it out.
Be assured we will be "pimping" our new ride with all the new toys...

Any further words on what software you'll have loaded in addition to FCP?

Allan - by any chance will you be able to have a video of the demo for those who are well out of your area?
Maybe something similar to this one: Maximizing Audio Techniques for Production on 2.1.12 on Vimeo (but a little shorter)
A fringe benefit is going to be lower power consumption and, ergo, less heat generated. This will be a good selling point for offices of large corporations concerned about protecting the environment. Solar arrays, LED lights, and low-power consumption computers (less air conditioning power required) would make for a winning office environment.
One has to wonder about if and when technology improvements will ever end. If 4K is fully embraced as standard, then is the next step, since it is already here, 3D as mainstream? And what will that become, 64K? And what comes after that??? A few years ago, actually not all that many, a salesman at Best Buy told me that HD was something that was years away for prosumer cams and now look where we are!

I will make an effort to create a few videos demonstrating performance and functionality of various software once I have our system configured this week.
This is the type of content our company is planning to showcase on our upcoming live web series entitled "The Omega Broadcast". This series will give folks an opportunity to "attend" these demos live and ask questions on the spot. And we will offer these videos for download afterward.
Any suggestions for content for this broadcast is welcome!

Just confirmed that the Magma expansion chassis we have our eye on will have a future upgrade path to Thunderbolt 2.0. They are shipping as 1.0 now.

We hooked Austin TX based colorist Tom Parish up with the new MACPRO and here's what he did:
