Anyone noticed this? I preview a menu and all is fine, but then select 'animate buttons' and once it's rendered it is noticeably softer - specially any button text.

Is there a way of getting to the encode settings for the menus to up the quality/bit rate?

Cheers

With dvd its usually a fields issue depending on
Which Encore, what is your source, DVD or BD, DL used?

I'm using Encore CS5, My footage is 1920X1080 AVCHD from Sony NEXCAM. I output to both DVD and Blu-ray

It's not badly blurred and I'm sure most people would not notice it - I guesss I'm pixel peeping but it is ever so softer once rendered.

For CS5 do not use DL as it flips the fields (hence the blurred thumbnails).
Export from Premiere directly to mpeg2-dvd and import that into Encore.
For BD you can use DL. I never did.

That's how I do it Ann - my issue is with the editable menu text in Encore - If I have a static menu the text is nice and sharp but If I have video thumbnails and create a motion menu - the rendered text becomes blurred. There seem to be no settings over the motion menu render to maybe increase the bit rate for example.

Long shot. Assuming you're using After Effects to make the motion menu? Right click the composition window, be sure frame blending is Off....like I say, long shot....
