Want a cheap AX1? This is the EXACT same sensor as in the AX1. Who knows, Boinz may make the image slightly better than the AX1.

Some real doubt if this will ever be released in the U.S. Sony is often not interested (or can't get U.S. carriers interested) in the U.S. market for their cellphone products.

Some real doubt if this will ever be released in the U.S. Sony is often not interested (or can't get U.S. carriers interested) in the U.S. market for their cellphone products.

The majority of recent (18+ months) Sony phones are available on both AT&T and T-Mobile, with T-Mobile just recently acquiring the Z1S.

Sony just made a public statement that they are going to focus their smartphone efforts more in the US. I'm willing to be that the Z2 will make it here.

I'm hoping they have 4K edit capabilities, which I highly doubt. I'm still waiting on Samsung to implement that in their native Android NLE for the Note 3. Fingers crossed.

Troy, unfortunately not a single current Sony device on the AT&T network. Take a look.

The editing video does show the Sony will have rudimentary editing capabilities for simple cuts.

But like the 4K Note 3 there is no optical image stabilization system.

There is a flaw in the Note that I've noticed every time I've played with one. I demonstrated it today to a BB sales guy. I've noticed that when you record a video, either 2K or 4K, the video will pause upon playback 3 seconds into the video.

We tried this on no less than 3 Notes and they all did the same thing. At precisely 3 seconds the playback would stop. You'd have to hit play again to resume playback and it would either play through or pause again at some point.

This is quite a serious flaw IMO. Not sure if there's been a firmware update for this or not.
