This is a question about the Vegas upgrade options but since wedding work differs a great deal from how many mainstream Vegas users operate I'd like to pose my question here. I know several members use Vegas for weddings.

I've been using Vegas Pro since October 2009, I think it was version 8 or 9, and I've updated each year to the current 12.

The v13 email offer has arrived and of course includes an option to upgrade to the Pro Suite. I have no interest in the included Hitfilm or Production Assistant or the music tracks. But Sound Forge Pro 11 could be interesting and works out cheaper than buying it standalone.

But I'm confused as to how it fits in with Sony's other audio editing software Spectral Layers and how useful it actually is.

Do you use Sound Forge Pro or do you stick with the audio editing capabilities built into Vegas Pro and maybe occasionally go out to the Levelator or to Audacity etc? Do you see any significant value in the Suite for our genre of video editing?

We have sound forge and haven't opened it in years. Vegas built in audio editing is pretty awesome. Im sure there are people who do use it but for weddings and what we do Vegas does it just fine.

Hi Peter

I'm still using Version 10 as it works fairly well. About 99% of the audio edits are also done in Vegas. If I don't have it open then I might use Goldwave instead of Sound Forge which does a good job.

What exactly does the Pro Suite offer us wedding guys, apart from Sound Forge ...Sony did come out with Cinescore a while ago but then dumped it. Are the tracks you mention something similar that can be customised?

Even Audacity can cover most sound issues.
