I have a shoot next week and need to rent a c300 for 2 days. My main camera is a Sony FS100, plus 7d and 5d, so I'm used to this format. I have a few questions, and hopefully someone can clarify.
1-I need to capture/ back up the footage from cf cards and provide it to the client at end of shoot. From reading the manual, it sounds like you can't just save footage data to a hard drive, in the way that you can with the FS 100 or 5D. Will I need to download and use the Canon utility program before I can back up the footage?

2- Lenses
Am I limited to using only full format Canon ef lenses, or can I use , for example, my Canon 17-55 2.8?

3-Do the rental cameras come with the new af upgrade? I'm considering renting from Adorama, but am open to other suggestions.
Thanks

1. The XF Utility has some useful features but you can directly copy the whole card using a CF card reader. That's actually my usual work flow. I manually create a top level folder on my computer like "AA0001-0037" and do a manual file copy of the whole CONTENTS folder structure from the card. I tend to use the XF Utility when I want to quickly create one large spanned MXF file for each shot.

2. The C300 comes in separate EF and PL mount versions so make sure to specify the EF version if that's your intent. You can use either EF or EF-s lenses on the EF version.

3. You'll have to ask the rental house on the Dual-pixel upgrade.
