Well I'm more than happy with my new A7s but....when it's mounted on a Manfrotto 501 QR plate I can't tilt the LCD screen - what I need is some sort of spacer - can anyone point me in the right direction? (preferably a UK supplier) I could attach the plate to the lens using the plate on the adapter (metabones) but that will make lens changing a little slower for me as I'd have to remove the QR plate from the lens to get it off the camera.

Cheers

I can think of a few bodge jobs but the problem would be stopping the body spinning on the "spacer".

How about a Manfrotto 323 with its base attached to the 501 plate and its own plate directly into the camera body. That should be secure and also give you a good amount of space.

Note that the lever on the 323 can be on any of the 4 sides so it does not need to protrude into an inconvenient place.

This seems to be a common "design flaw" with Sony - RX100M2 and I presume Mk3, the RX10, Alphas, and IIRC the HX series all run into the problem of mounting to a tripod/QR making it hard or impossible to articulate the screen... I've usually pulled it out just enough to clear the QR when I mount, and it's been 'good enough", if a quibbling annoyance!

I haven't bothered to figure out a solution, but the best bet might be a little RUBBER spacer (so spin isn't an issue)... I'll see if I can try something like that and let you know how it goes - the spacer shouldn't need to be TOO thick, but is a NEEDED item, IMO!
