I was looking at B&H today and noticed this guy:

Sony NEX-EA50M NXCAM Camcorder with 18-105mm f/4 Servo NEX-EA50M

Looks like an EA50 with new F4 lens...

Nice.

They also did a EA50 in Asia without the SEL"P"18200 lens, but the older silver version. Wasn't available in Europe though.

I'm guessing this new constant F4 lens version is exclusive to US market only ? Haven't seen it selling like that across the pond.

Yeah. I dunno. It looks like they've also got a new nx3/1 model.

B&H says that the only difference between the NX3 and the NX3/1 is that the NX3/1 comes with a battery in the kit.

With a corresponding price reduction too!

I've been using the SEL18105 with my FS100 for a while now, even with it's outrageous distortion. I'm not sure if the EA50 already had the lens distortion correction for it, but I'll bet it does now.

Hi Kyle

Apart from the cheaper lens the only other change is now it has two record buttons! One starts the SD card and the other records to the FMU ...other than that it's the same body. I guess Sony needs to move the 18-105 lenses??

It's the same model with the 18-105 lens. I've been using this lens for eight months now on my EA50. Never displayed any distortion which leeds me to believe it was intended for the EA50 all along.
