I have been a user of Cineform for a very long time. However, I have been stumped with this problem. When I transcode Panasonic Gh4, mpg4 files with PCM linear audio to either a 4k file, or a 1920x1080 reduction, the video is pristine, but there is no audio. There is hiss up to 0db, but nothing else. I have the AVC-HD audio decoder plugin, and have never had troubles with files from my GoPro, Canon 5D, or all the Canon MXF files from my XF-305. The audio plays fine through the VLC player, or in the camera.

I am running on a PC, using PPRO 6, Cineform Studio Premium 2.0.1.319 and HD Link.

I must be missing something basic, any suggestions out there would be welcome.

Thanks!

GoPro studio may not be alone here. I have seen problems with other tools trying to do something with GH3 and GH4 footage. For example, Avidemux 2.6 cannot handle the audio without problems. Handbrake seems fine with GH4.

Things like VLC and MPC-HC seem to play GH4 fine.

Shoot the GH4 in MP4 not with PCM but the AAC flavor (the first choice on selector) , for some reason this works fine in the GP encoder.
