Hi there,

I have a Sennheiser Evoluntion G2 wireless 112p kit that works very well. Until recently the sound was clean and clear. The only change I made was that I upgraded the omni ME2 mike to a cartiod ME4 mike, then I've been getting pops, statics and DROPOUTS. I think it could be because of the ME4. The ME4 is supposed to be better, but the cable doesn't seem to be sheilded so I get static when the cable brushes up against itself or the attenna.

I'm trying to track down whether the dropouts and static is caused by something I'm doing or because the system turned bad, or ??? I put in fresh batteries, and used different channels/frequencies, but it doesn't seem to help.

I think I should get my old ME2 back, but before I do, I thought I would check to see what you guys think?

thanks

ROn

I have had nothing but problems with the ME-4 mike, it is far too senistive it picks up every movement and static noises. I have just ordered the ME 2

the funny thing is, I just found out that I was using the MKE2, not the ME4.

Figures.... it's ok if the wire is left hanging up, but if it's folded and rubs against anything,....static.... didn't get that with the ME2

Looking at the specs I see that the ME4 is more senitive than the ME2 and that is why (I pressume) that I have had all the problems. My other headache is wind noise when presenting outdorrs, the wind sounds like thunder - and I am using the windshield.

On the whole I am pleased with the Sennheiser, but not with the mike. I am thinking about a Sanken Cos 11 unit, which seems to be standard in the Film/TV industry, but cost as much as the whole Senn kit.
