Hello,
I have a DVD that I need to capture to my HDD. My plan was to copy the .VOB files to my hard drive.

Convert them to .MPG and simply move into my CS3 editor.

However, when I move them into CS3 I do NOT have any sound. No audio tracks or controls or anything.

I can play the VOB files just fine with sound. The problem is in CS3 only.

Any Suggestions?

Need to convert with a program that re-muxes the separate audio and video. Suggest "mpegStreamclip." an excellent freeware from squared5.com. Select "mpeg with audio" as the conversion choice. Quicktime is required for the program to operate, also a free download from Apple. Versions of both available for Mac or Windows.

Glad it worked, thanks for letting me know! I should have mentioned, in Quicktime settings, always select the high quality option in the player preferences panel....I don't think it affects the output but makes your edit look more like the original frames.

If the audio contains AC3 and it usually does in dvd copy the ad2ac3dec.dll file from Encore and paste that in the root of Premiere, that will bring back your audio. Make a new project first or reimport the files.
