I can upload in 4K to YouTube, not bad if not as good as originals. However if I add background music from the YouTube library the upload defaults to 1080p.

Presumably others have experienced this. I wonder if there is a workaround.

Don't add music from the YouTube library.

Sometimes the higher res versions takes longer to finish processing? Is the option to switch to 4K available at all? I know my YouTube playback defaults to 720p as they think that's the speed my broadband provider can reliably provide. I have to manually switch playback quality.

Also, is HTML5 your default player for Youtube in web browser?

Download the music and add it to your video then upload.
