I filmed in a studio today, but the lights had pretty loud fans on, which were picked up on the microphones. I started off with a shotgun mic, and then added a wireless tie mic onto the 2nd audio track. There is a very audible background noise.

Can anyone help and advise what I can do to improve/eradicate the problem? Im not much of a pro at audio editing or manipulation, so please keep it simple! Sony Vegas Pro, which im working with, has lots of filter tools, but not really sure where to start! You can watch/listen here, and download a high res version of a short section of just the noise, and the presenter. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Matthew.
If You have installed Sound Forge, then you've got Vegas Pro filters will Sony Noise Reduction.
If You have no other sound processing tools, and have no desire to buy such, the Open source audio editing program Audacity contains good noise reduction.
Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder (http://web.audacityteam.org/)

I'll second the Audacity noise removal tool. It's not perfect, but it works great for the price.
Here's a little demo. Enhance voice in audio and video recordings with Audacity - YouTube
