Hey,
just wondering if anyone can help me, i was recently looking at buying a FX1 off E-bay but have only just come to the realization that the Fx1 doesnt shoot in DV CAM mode, having realised this ive found out about the Z1 which shoots in HD and DV CAM but there is a significant price difference. Im not sure what the major differances between DV and DV CAM are but isnt HD better than both so why the need for DV CAM if i have HD to shoot on. spending this amount of money i just want to make sure im buying the right product.

You have to make the decision. There are lots of threads in this forum to help make your decision.

Personally I think the DVCAM capability shouldn't be much of a factor. Remember, DVCAM does not yield any higher quality than regular SD DV, it is just written to tape in a different format. For me the deciding factor was the dual PAL/NTSC SD capability. There are a bunch of other little things which are worthwhile also. See the link above for more info.
