Here's my first 4K recording on the X70.
Aperture: f5.6
Shutter: 60
Gain: -3db
ND: 1
PP: modified #4
Just after buying the 4K upgrade license, Apple released FCPX 10.2.2 with native support for XAVC-L 4K. So I was able to drop the 4K files on the timeline, but down scaled to 1080 due to lack of horsepower on my early 2009 Mac Pro. Pixel peepers might be disappointed that I compressed it to 720p for YouTube, but even at that I think the image quality is stunning from this little camera. By the way, Napanee is rock singer Avril Lavigne's hometown.

I output 720p for broadcast from my X70 4K raw footage. Really the ONLY real advantage I find with HD output is that the ClearImage and Digital zoom functions (up to 16X!) perform MUCH better in 4K mode.

All the Sony cameras, and even Panasonic P2, that feature a digital zoom/extender function, seem to simply crop in on your selected record resolution, and NOT on the sensor itself. For instance, if I am shooting 720p on a 1080p sensor camera, you would think I could digital 2x and that crop of the 2MP sensor would be full raster 720p 1MP.........nope, just a crop of 720p to basically SD. Sad really......
