As far as I can tell you can't turn off the NFC active icon/feature on the FS5 unless you put it into airplane mode. Since this is an active rather than passive NFC feature wouldn't there be a continual (admittedly small) draw on the battery whilst in operation?

If so what downside is there to keeping the camera continually in airplane mode unless wifi, network, etc features are needed?
