Hi Guys ..there have been a few rigs posted here for using the FZ1000 for handheld video and I did make one using aluminium square tube with bicycle grips either side but it was a little bulky. Well I bought some LED on camera lights a few years back and whilst doing a cleanout today discovered the two plastic handgrips that came with the lights ..they had a 1/4" thread in the base and a cold shoe on the top so all I needed to do was make a base plate to go under the camera with a cutout for the battery lid and I had a new grip for my FZ1000 ... The bottom plate is just a 40mm x 3mm piece of flat bar (aluminium) and works great!! It's neater and lighter than my old one too!!!
I have two cold shoes so can mount the shotgun on the left and a video light when needed on the right
