I have a Sony NEX-EA-50u I am looking for a temporary replacement I am tired of switching lenses I like the l look of the camera but im not ready to go 4K yet. The NX-100 looks pretty good as far as features and it LOOKS like it has the same chip as my EA 50 is there any wedding footage of it out there and any thoughts on it?

I guess when you think about it, it makes more sense to put the extra money for a Panasonic UX-90 its more camera plus 4K. for $400-$500 more.

The NX100 has a one inch sensor, not APS-C like the EA50.
That said, it is a quite large sensor for a camcorder, and I kind of like it (had a chance to play with it yesterday in a photo exhibition). Seriously consider buying it, and using it as a complement to the EA50 we use.

In that case, you run into color matching issues with the existing EA50. And that's no fun.

This video makes some direct comparisons:

It's very difficult to draw any real conclusions from a wedding on YouTube, but if my weddings shot on a pair of Panasonc fz1000s were burning out on the sky, bright reflections and white dress the way the Sony is, I would be very disappointed. I didn't think that the dynamic range looked great either. Of course a lot of that could be down to the settings the camera man used.

I would guess 'operator error' is the main problem.
The long Russian test of the camera was very helpful, if you ask my opinion.

Compared to Canon XF cameras, the NX100 looks very good value for money.
