hi there...I usually use the HDMI output to connect a Lilliput monitor to my XF300 when I videotape concerts and it works fine...but soon I will be doing a live show that requires me to output a HD signal to large screens and so I will use the HDMI to give video to the large screens and I'm thinking that using the component out on the camera to the Lilliput monitor will work nice for me to monitor the performances-better than the camera LCD, but I can't find the cable that came with the camera...argh..

I found A GENUINE Canon cable on B&H of course- for the equivalent to $70 Cdn which is not too bad, but I'm wondering if anyone here has used a similar cable with the XF300 that has worked just as good as the genuine Canon cable for a lower price...just thinking..if not I will just order the genuine cable.
any ideas from actual buyers or XF300 owners who have used both video outputs simultaneously? Also I hope both the component and HDMI outs work simultaneously..right? The priority will be the HDMI to the large screens.

thanks
Erick
PS I tried the BNC conector on the XF300 (VIDEO 2) but the signal is only SD and it looks pretty bad. Not worth using it. The component should give me a HD signal to the monitor.

Have you searched the web for sources?
Ebay and Amazon list canon branded for under $40 USD, and generics for as little as $15 USD.

hi there...yes...of course..the price for the genuine Canon cable is $40 US everywhere...that's the going rate...I found the equivalent generic cable on ebay for $14US plus shipping and that sounds reasonable. This cable should work just the same as the genuine Canon I hope..I would hate to have any incompatibility using it wtth the XF300...thanks!

I found this item on ebay but it doesn't mention compatibility with XF300/305- only XHA1
I hope it works

The DTC-1000 component video cable is also listed by Canon as an accessory for the XHA1. You should be OK.
