Hi Everyone,

Has anyone compared these cameras before? Looking at a CX900 but very hard to find at decent prices. I have found a few CX700 cameras, but seeing that they are much older I'm wondering how the quality compares to the CX900.

Also, has Sony replaced the CX900 with anything or just discontinued it?

Thanks
Mark

Mark sorry for the late reply just joined the group. I have both of these Cameras and they are both nice older Sony's the cx900 larger 1 inch chip gives better low light video and it has many more manual controls than the much smaller cx700.they both are 1920x1080i AVCHD format. The cx700 is tiny better suited for hand held shots and the cx900 is 3 times its size mine stays on a tripod. There are better Sony options out there for similar prices look at the CX760, the PJ710, PJ760, PJ790 all with the BOSS stabilization if you are wanting an affordable handheld. The FDR-AX33 and FDR-AX53 can be found used at lower prices these days and they are pretty nice smaller chip 4K handhelds with BOSS stabilization. The CX900 was discontinued as well as her 4K big brother FDR-AX100 replaced by the FDR-AX700.
