Does anyone know the correct name for the little wedge/clip douvres which retain ribbon cables into their PCB-mounted sockets and possibly point me to a source. The clips are about the most useless delicate guaranteed-to-break objects I have ever beheld since the SATA socket. Any advice appreciated.

Contact Sound Devices support (https://service.sounddevices.com/contact-support/), unlike many companies these days, they are responsive, accommodating and will defiantly help you with your 302..

Perhaps they ribbon cables are fragile, but I bought my 302 right after they were released. So like 20 years ago? After lots of use, and some abuse, it's still rolling strong.

But more to your point, Rick's right. Contact SD and, based on my experience, they'll get you pointed in the right direction.

Good luck.

Same here. 15 years with no issues built like a tank compared to the mixpre. I’ve never opened up the 302 but most electronic today are near impossible to repair. Inside they’re a complex cramped stack of components attached with these ribbon cables.
