I have an XA 20 and HF G30 that l have been using without issue. I just added a HF G50 and cannot get any signal from the HDMI out when in camera mode. I have used known working cords (triple checked) and capture boxes/monitors. They work fine with the other cameras. Oddly enough I can get 1929x1080 out of it when in the Media mode, but only on the playback menu for pictures. If I try to playback video, it goes black and the monitor states “no signal”. I have tried it with 4K and 1080p. Suggestions? Anyone else have this issue?

I've not used that camcorder, but reading the External connections section of the manual (starting page 96) it looks like it gives a rather complicated set of options for output based on display setup and depending on the monitor capability.

Does using scan mode setting PsF work?

I got it!! I was up most the night trying and again today, but found the culprit. For others who may have this issue in the future, check the frame rate setting. When I changed it to 59.97fps, it clicked on and worked like a champ. Not sure why any other frame rate would completely disable the HDMI output, but they do. Only 59.97fps gets signal to send through the HDMI out.

FWIW: I've encountered something sort of similar.with Black Magic Design's Intensity Pro and Media Express captures via HDMI. Media Express must exactly match the signal. If Media Express is set for a 59.94 and it receives a 60 fops it will not see it.
